Pick a style
Cute figurine
A cartoon version with a big head and soft shapes. It’s the style most people choose for pets, and it’s very forgiving to print.
Realistic
Stays closest to the photo: your pet’s shape, face and pose. Good for memorials; resin shows fur detail best.
With a base
Adds a round base so it stands steady, with room to paint a name on it.
Chibi
A big head on a tiny body. Fun as a desk companion.
Pet photos that work best
- The whole animal in the frame, including paws, ears and tail.
- Taken at their eye level: get down to their height.
- Sitting or lying down. Calm poses print sturdier than a jump.
- Good light on the face, with the eyes visible.
- A plain background, with no other animals or people touching them.
- Long fur? Cute and Chibi smooth it into shapes that print cleanly.
A memorial for a pet you’ve lost
Many people make a figurine of a pet who has died, to keep on a shelf, a windowsill or beside their urn. Choose a photo that shows them the way you remember them, and pick Realistic to stay close to it.
Add a base so it stands steady, and paint their name on it afterwards, because Remeshy doesn’t add lettering itself. In the creator you can also describe extras in your own words, such as angel wings or their favourite ball.
Printing tips
Size
Around 6–10 cm tall suits most pet figurines. Set it in your slicer.
Material
PLA is fine for most. Resin shows fur, whiskers and small paws best.
Supports
Ears, tails and raised paws need supports underneath.
Paint
The print is one colour. Prime it, then paint the markings with acrylics.
Questions people ask
Can I make a figurine of my dog from a photo?
Yes. Upload a clear photo of your dog, pick a style, and Remeshy shows a free preview of the figurine. When you like it, create the model and download the STL to print.
Will it look like my pet?
